An Afternoon in Streator, with Elvis and His Mom
Yesterday I met up with the other 11 students going to London for a little party at Matt's house in Streator. Streator is an interesting experience. Matt says that lots of people make fun of their towns, but with Streator, the stuff is actually true. For example, "You can kill someone and get away with it in my town!" Well, in Streator, he says, you actually can! Haha. Anyway, it was really nice to go there and see everyone before we fly over the Big Pond. I was able to get to know some of them a little better, talk about some questions we had, figure out who's bringing what, discuss what we want to do in London, and make some tentative travel plans for weekends and at the end of the semester. And have some yummy food Matt's family made for us! :) It was also great to have some time to chat with my Jen Dawson on the way home. I'm really lucky to have a good friend along on our adventures.
A question for anyone who has traveled in Europe:
Do you reccommend traveling by plane or train? We have a limited amount of traveling time at the end, so plane would be faster, but it would also be nice to see all the places we're going through on a train. Any advice?
Well, I'm going to go try to convince Jen Swanson (the original Jen Squared!) to go to the movies in our pajamas tonight! (I bet she'll do it!) Enjoy the weather and all of your summery doings!

"Gone. Like Frank Sinatra. Like Elvis and his mom. Like Al Pacino's cash, nothing lasts in this life. My high school dreams are gone. My childhood sweets are gone. Life is a day that doesn't last for long! Life is more than money. Time was never money. Time was never cash. Life is still more than girls, life is more than hundred dollar bills and roto-tom fills, life is more than fame and rock and roll and thrills. All the riches of the kings end up in wills. We've got information in the information age, but do we know what life is outside of our convenient Lexus cages? He said she said live like no tomorrow, every day we borrow brings us closer to a God who's not short on cash. Hey Bono, I'm glad you asked. Life is still worth living..." -Switchfoot
